    CMM Operator

    The CMM Operator will be responsible for operating a CMM as well as interpreting CMM reports to check  TARUS Horizontal CMM parts. The Individual will also complete documentation as it relates to CMM inspection.

    TARUS Horizontal CMM must be familiar with “SPUD” software


    Job Responsibilities:

    • Independently operate CMM and interpret CMM programs to check manufactured parts
    • Provide useable feedback to machine operators regarding 1st piece inspection results
    • TARUS Horizontal CMM must be familiar with “PC-DMis or EZDmis” software
    • Utilize computer skills and critical thinking to interpret and measure complex machined components
    • Load parts onto the CMM and as necessary; calibrate probes on the CMM prior to operating it
    • Use a combination of blocks, spacers, screws and two-sided tape to set-up parts on the CMM
    • Examine routers and look at ballooned drawings prior to accepting parts to determine what features of the part need to be checked manually
    • Use micrometers, pins gages, bore gages, radius gages, chamfer gages, the vision system or other inspection tools to manually inspect parts
    • Record and complete required inspection documentation and mark items with details such as inspection status or acceptance/rejection status
    • Follow procedures related to the final approval of parts and then transport them to shipping & receiving




    Required Skills:

    • Knowledge of mathematics and the ability to perform basic calculations.
    • Ability to correctly operate a CMM running on SPUD software
    • Ability to understand and follow instructions on inspection documents.
    • Ability to navigate through Microsoft Office software on PC
    • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language (both verbal and written)
    • Ability to read in the English language
    • Willing to run CNC Mill (No Programming Required)


    Required Experience:

    • 1-3 years of experience operating a CMM is required
    • High School Diploma/GED
    • GD&T and blueprint reading
    • PC-Dmis or EZDmis
