Overview

The Test Technician conducts tests in support of Compnay's Programs. He conducts tests following standard methods and may design some tests and provide technical assistance in areas of design, prototype building and testing.

Responsibilities

Main Duities:

  • Contributes to the reliable evaluation of product design, by operating test equipment.
    • Fatigue
    • Lifecycle
    • Anchorage (FMVSS 207/210)
    • Climatic Chambers
    • Robotics (ABB, Kuka, Nachi)
    • PLC and Data Acquisition equipment
  • Maintains records, analyzes data and reports test results.
  • Facilitates testing requirements by devising, sketching and making fixtures, assisting in the design of the test and development of test equipment, setting up and operating said test equipment.
  • Contributes to maintaining the test lab by performing maintenance, repairing test equipment, making small tools, recommends purchase of tools, equipment and shop supplies.
  • Maintains shop cleanliness in general and assigned areas including the machines.
  • Ensures that all appropriate safety measures and practices are followed to prevent injury to self and others according to the company and government regulations.
  • Organizes self to complete tasks to maintain project schedule.
  • To be knowledgeable of, and comply with, applicable TS16949 Standards, Company's Business Systems and Lab Manuals
  • Other duties and special projects assigned

Specific Responsibilities: 

 

  • Conducts tests on time as schedule by the supervisor or supervisor designate.
  • Executes tests based on the machine and QS procedures as well as the polyvalence rating system.

Improves procedures for the test methods and testing equipment if required.

Qualifications

  • Technical Education or equivalent work experience
  • Familiar with pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
  • Welding and machining experience is a plus
  • 2 or more years recent and practical experience preferably in automotive or aviation maintenance.   (Exceptions and discretion’s determined by the supervisor.)
  • Have good communication skills to interface with engineering, designing, and customer related people.
  • Be able to set up and perform tests with minimal supervision.
