    Overview

    We are looking for talented CAD Designers using NX, who must be able to utilize ‘A’ surface data from a design studio to create models that will be used to create molds for mock-up builds for the customer. Most important is the methodology in which the CAD Designer constructs their data.  We are looking for talented Designers, who must be able to conceptualize from design, sketches and given direction.

    A broad understanding of the vehicle architecture, specifically, door panels, IP’s and center consoles.  Also, understand the data is NOT FOR PRODUCTION and is conceptual only.

    A CDD CAD Designer develops everything from Exterior and Interior components which helps facilitate Property Builds for the customer and all vehicle component design.

    Qualifications

    Experience

    • 5+ years’ experience in NX software
    • 10 years or more in feasibility, packaging and design development in an automotive plastics interior environment
    • Strong Design Background with respects to Interior and Exterior Design
    • Recent experience with either Instrument Panels (IP), Door Trim, Center Consoles, or Interior Trim is required
    • A working knowledge of designing components in plastic materials and wrapped components is a plus
    • TeamCenter experience is also a plus
    • Tooling design knowledge is a plus
    • Change existing details and assemblies
    • Update drawings and incorporate changes in design as requested
    • Knowledge required of CAD/CAM tools and specific customer design packages a plus
    • Supporting Program timing and ensuring that all design timing commitments are met for assigned design tasks
    • Implementing incremental engineering inputs or criteria definition for assigned tasks
    • Supporting design reviews for all new projects/programs for assigned programs
    • Ensuring quality of design and all customers required quality checks are performed on any completed CAD data prior to release to the customer. The checks will insure that the CAD models meet or surpass the customers’ requirements/specifications
    • Releasing of CAD data and supporting the Lead Designer with the releasing of the CAD data into the customer data base at the agreed upon release dates
    • Support the Lead Designer with the any customers’ request for any intermediate uploads of working level 3D CAD data

     

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • Schooling/Training in automotive body design and/or equivalent in the fundamentals of Design
    • Understanding of tooling criteria, i.e., multiple material processing, lifter/slide requirements, part ejection methods, material characteristics, and tooling design requirements
    • Manufacturing and packaging knowledge
    • Technical knowledge and superior skills in CAD software(s), Layout drawings
    • Surface development skills & problem-solving techniques
    • Able to work in a team concept environment and excellent communication skills with the design groups
    • Ability to complete tasks with limited supervision
    • Well-Organized individual with skills to multi-task in high-level of work efficiency in relation to CAD deliverables and Timing
    • Managing & executing data management and misc. design process & procedures
    • In-Depth knowledge of Parametric Modeling and Customer CAD model requirements
